Women's Soccer Ready to Square-Off Against West Georgia to Open 2011 Home Slate

SAINT LEO, Fla. – After opening its 2011 campaign with a big 6-1 victory over Catawba College on the road September 1, the Saint Leo University women’s soccer team squares off against West Georgia on their home pitch.

Under the direction of head coach Ged O’Connor, the Green and Gold were predicted to finish fifth in the 2011 Sunshine State Conference Preseason Poll.  The Lions have six returning starters from the 2010 squad that faced plenty of adversity in last season’s slate, and welcome 10 new faces who bring a plethora of talent and to team.

The Wolves take to the pitch today after opening their 2011 campaign on Friday afternoon right here at University Field against Eckerd College.  UWG picked up a 3-0 victory over the Tritons, with three different players putting points on the scoreboard.
