Tournament Restaurant Ideas

When traveling for a tournament, some coaches like to have the whole team and families eat together on Saturday night.  Check to see if the hotel has a breakfast area or other space you can use for free-this eliminates the problem with crowding and wait time in a restaurant.  Ordering several pasta dishes from an Italian restaurant catering menu makes it affordable and allows for a variety of food.  Let families know up front that you will be collecting money to cover dinner (and the coaches meal), it is usually around $10 a person.  Not all restaurants provide free paper products and cutlery you may need to purchase some, as well as drinks and dessert which need to be included in your cost.  The person heading this up may want to bring serving utensils, as some restaurants will not provide these.  Finally please remember to clean up the hotel area when done eating.

Below are some restaurants that have been recommended:

Olive Garden and Carrabba’s

Giovanni’s Restaurant-Lake Mary/Deland, Winter Park, E. Orlando, Daytona, Oviedo

Palace Pizza (not to be confused with Pizza Palace)-Lakeland-huge serving

Broadway Bar (and Pizza)- Sarasota-They have a huge upstairs that can be used for large groups
