IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM THE JYSC PRESIDENT
Dear Jacksonville
Youth Soccer Club Members:
Yesterday morning
a matter
of urgent importance came to the Board of Directors' attention. The
national
credit card processing vendor that Jacksonville Youth Soccer Club
(JYSC) has contracted with to process our online credit card payments,
Count Me In (CMI) based in Bellevue, Washington, appears to
be in
financial difficulty. When a JYSC member pays for their registration
with a credit card online, CMI receives all funds charged from the
credit card company, and CMI in turn is contracted to retain a small
fee and remit the balance to JYSC. We have used CMI for over three
years, since Fall 2005,
to handle the club’s online credit card processing of
registration dues. CMI has not filed for
bankruptcy protection to date, and
CMI communicated to JYSC last
night that
they intend to make full payment. CMI currently owes JYSC over $75,000
in
registration fees, or 16% of our $475,000 operating
budget. JYSC has always been financially conservative and does not
operate at a deficit. We are
hopeful that CMI
will
make full payment of outstanding remittances, but the Board will use
all available remedies to recoup the funds due us and protect JYSC
from further financial harm.
What
can we do at this moment? We are urging all members
who have
utilized the
JYSC online
registration process since
June 1, 2008, to contact the credit card company or bank used and alert them that CMI
never
forwarded the required payment to JYSC, as they are contractually
obligated to do. The
major credit card companies are
receiving
calls from many
effected
youth sports clubs across
the nation and should be well aware of the situation. The charge on
your
statement should begin
with “CMI.”
Please contact your credit card company or bank immediately to dispute
this
charge and ask that it be reversed as a full credit. JYSC has
terminated
the CMI connection from our
website. Online registration payment is not available at this time.
Please use the
mail
instead.
The Board and
Staff at JYSC
are actively working
on
this serious matter,
and we will keep
everyone updated at www.jysc.com
as we learn more. Please
email us at
